Organisation
The Creative Tampere programme is co-ordinated by the Business Development Centre of the City of Tampere. To counterbalance the lightweight administrative structure of the programme, it is backed up by a vast group of representatives from Tampere's business life, the public sector, and research and educational institutions.Advisory committee
The programme's advisory committee appointed by the mayor includes experts with the task of evaluating the national and international effect and visibility of the programme. The committee also gives the City of Tampere and the programme's control group suggestions for action relating to the programme. The committee meets approximately twice a year.Control group
A control group appointed by the mayor is responsible for the management of the Creative Tampere programme. The task of the control group is to act as a strategic-level discussion forum, to approve the programme strategy and annual plan of action, and to outline crucial matters of principle and issues with long-term effects. The control group makes resolution propositions on the projects applying to be part of the programme, approves programme reports, makes decisions on strategic changes and the need for further funding of the programme, and promotes co-operation and efficient use of resources. The control group meets six to eight times a year.
Work groups for the theme areas
The Creative Tampere programme is divided into three different themed areas: the creative industries, innovations and entrepreneurship and attractive city. Each theme has its own work group of approximately 10 to 15 people who decide on the guidelines for their area, are responsible for the guidance of project preparations, and handle follow-up work on project implementation. From the project ideas offered to the programme, the group also selects and presents for funding the projects that best implement the goals set for the theme in question.
