National networks

Creative Industries Finland (CIF) provides information, events, and networks for developers and policy-makers of the creative economy. It aims to strengthen the understanding and implications of creativity in different contexts.

Ministry of Education started a national ESF program for developing creative industries in 2007. The size of this program is 15 million euros. Creative Industries Finland is coordinating this national program with the ministry. Tampere is in charge of Creative Industries Finland together with the University of Helsinki and Cupore.

Ministry of Economics started a development program for creative economy in 2009. The program has been divided to 4 target areas.  Tampere / Technology centre Hermia is in charge of leading the New operation models target area.

International networks

Districts of Creativity is an international network of 13 innovative and creative regions. Yearly Creativity World Forum, joint projects and exchanging best practices are some actions taken. Tampere is also part of Eurocities and Eurocities working group for creative industries.
